Health coach
versus
nutrition coach

"People do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things."
- Sir Edmund Hillary, explorer and philanthropist

Simply put, a health & nutrition coach is a guide to helping individuals live their best life.

I know, this is a bold statement.

What is a Health Coach?

A health coach does not diagnose, treat, or cure a health issue; however, they empower individuals to get to the root of a problem and collaborate on a plan of action by looking at the concern from a holistic point of view. Sleep, stress, nutrition, exercise, relationships, career; everything in our lives is connected.

I am an accountability partner who provides guidance on achieving long-lasting changes based on realistic health and wellness goals. Through my professional education and personal experiences, I help individuals sort through extensive information on a topic to determine what would work best for them.

What is a Nutrition Coach?

A nutrition coach works with an individual to create long-lasting behavioral changes associated with eating habits and food choices. I help people with the following as it relates to creating sustainable nutrition habits.

  • Educate about nutrition (calories, macronutrients, energy balance)
  • Lead and motivate towards reaching overall health and nutrition goals
  • Discuss supplements and food choices that best fit a particular lifestyle
  • Introduce related life skills such as cooking and healthy grocery shopping
  • Coordinate with clinicians or dieticians for those individuals with pre-existing health conditions

Choosing a coach that specializes in both

The majority of wellness coaches prefer to focus on only holistic health or nutrition. Understanding that everything is connected and that some people prefer to focus on one topic more than the other, I chose to become certified in both disciplines. This gives me the flexibility to integrate health coaching with nutrition guidance to create a holistic plan of action.
